PostSubject: Adding the Mod to the Non-Steam Game Library   Sat 5 Aug 2017 - 23:18

Hello, I am absolutely Loving this Mod and have no problems with the install but I do have a problem. I want to add the Mod to the Non-Steam Game list in my Library but Anytime I go to Launch the Mod through the Launcher It gives me a XRAY Engine Crash box and I cant go any further. Keep in mine that it works perfectly fine without the Steam Library launch but All I want to do is have the Steam Overlay while I play the game so I don't have to Tab out every time.
If There is anyway to fix this or it isn't possible please let me know.
Thank You.

Hello Visceral! Welcome to the forum.

I tried to add the game to non-steam games as well. It works fine for me.
Just make sure to select the XR_3DA file in the bin folder if you're running dx9. (If dx11, then bin_dx11) and not the SS launcher itself.

Hope this helps! Smile

Cheers! We'll see if it works for Visceral then we can call it a success. Very Happy

While I can say that Steam overlay browser is quite nice, not having to tab out, it's still very inconsistent. Some pages won't load or function properly. I tried to post on SS forum but the page will re-fresh itself every 5 seconds. I read on the Steam forums that this problem goes back to 2014 and has still not been fixed.

Edit:
And another thing! When running non-steam games, make sure you don't have any beta testings on. Or else you won't be able to start the game.

Here's how you deactivate it:

1. Open Steam, click on "Steam" in the upper left corner.

2. Go to settings.

3. Click on "Account" > Beta participation should be set to "NONE"

4. Done!

Beta participation should be set to "NONE" by default, but it's good to check it anyway. Mine wasn't Smile

The Patch works great for fixing Dialogue and the Guns. Thank you for that.
But I did seem to run into another problem, My first visit to the Garbage where you go and fight the bandits with Bes and his gang never triggered which was weird. Like He says "Everyone get into position and wait for them to come to us." but nothing happens after that. So then I go to the Agroprom where Mole and his group are fighting the Military, and after the fight I go to find mole and he just stands there with no Completed quest on leaving the compound. I try to keep talking to him but I get no response other than the dialogue he gives in the text box. He just stands there and never moves. I dont know if I glitched the game out but it seems that the Patch may have disabled the triggers for certain Tasks.

If there is a fix for this please let me know.
Thank you.

old thread I know but I am actually using the SS launcher through steam and it works fine.

Steam in game interface works too in stalkersoup if you set steam to load as administrator
