Just completed Brain Scorcher, and several quests leading up to NS storyline. Here's my experience so far:
The Money Module works again.
No crashes in 4 trips to Dark Valley.
PLEASE, somebody take the musical instruments away from quest NPCs!
Mole was OK, but I always immediately run to the tunnel for his PDA, as it

Freeman acts like a thug and beats on you if you take anything from the blue box next to him.
Kruglov remains a PITA.
Ivantsov won't talk to you until he sits down by the fire, and plays his guitar for awhile. Then, there is a very short window to talk with him.
Max is still a problem in AW. AND, he gets stuck at the southern wall returning from the Duty elimination. Later, he is in his usual spot inside the base.
No Mercs at the unfinished building in Rostok, Voronin quest.

Overall, the game has been pretty stable.

lol when I do the military base in agro I always hide in the clear bushes, they can't see you, but you can see them, makes it easy to stealth kill them

but as for what ya discovered on this playthrough yea almost the same happening to me. for my next playthrough though I will have to be sure to do fox's missions and moles PDA right away before they disappear.

I tried to search a little where to put this, but couldn't find the better place, so...

Clean new game, with an 14.1 update (I downloaded the latest update program).

Just as I've drunk that Doctor's first 'medicine' which will teleport me to the cave, I got this error:

Are you sure that you have the latest gamedata.dbv1 file? It fixed this exact error, which was in 14.0. Get it from here:

I guess my bad. I repeated the update process and now can't reproduce the error. Somehow, I didn't update properly.

The C stack overflow is a common CTD currently and gonna happen from time to time, its basicly means out of memory, I'm not sure about the other one

Yes, I know that, but the last is strange, it's 3 consecutive c-stacks, with different stack traces, which I see for first time. So, maybe it could help TB or Aleks in some way...


And, besides, I've been just started the game, C stacks usually happen after some time...

it can be multiple cstacks or just one its random, it happens to me too, don't worry TB and aleks knows about it Smile

the important ones is the (a nil value) crashes cause they corrupt your gamesave

he is a new problem in 110014, suppose to spawn in dark valley in the normal place but doesn't

when I do another playthrough I will do his PDA mission right away before he disappears, Fox is the same way he will disappear if ya wait too long to do his missions.

It probably won't, but it is the first thing I try if I get a nil value error.

For your second question, are you sure you have killed all of the soldiers?

Hmm I checked everywhere and saw the ones that spawned and got them but I will look again.

edit: no luck Sad I did find some more mutant dogs and 2 more zombified stalkers I missed but didn't help when I killed them.

this mission worked fine for me in 110013

I should have done like you did, just focus on the storyline only until I get up to dead city and then work on side missions later.

Regarding the nil value, I just looked in my gamedata\scripts folder and I already have turret_mgun.script there. I must have had the same error earlier and forgot!  Rolling Eyes  In my usual hammer-cracking-nut way I edited out line 48 to read

-- self.heli:SetfHealth(self.se_obj.health) -- COMMENTED OUT AS CAUSING CTD

... which seems to have at least cured the CTD. Not sure what I am now missing, though. scratch

How are you at extracting and editing files? The line indicated in your error is in gamedata\scripts\tb3d_extra_spawns.script at line 246. You could try commenting out that line (with two dashes --) and see if it works then.

Sorry, I forgot to say: with any of these errors, send your error log and save game to TecnoBacon so he knows about it and can investigate. Hopefully he will send you a proper fix!

I'm fine with editing files. I did it by my own to solve a few problems be it for NS or Stalkersoup.
Nevertheless, I would be glad if you could tell me which db file I have to extract to get the script file I have to modify. I don't feel like going through the hassle of extracting all db files one by one. Smile

'tb3d_extra_spawns' is one of the 467 scripts in the .db0 file. I've just had to unpack that lot to update the artefact names in the Transmutator. Let me know if you need any more info...

this 1.14.1 patch is has fault. because i did start new game with this patch. miner no wants controller scalp artifact for sterlok pda.

No problem with that task in my 110014.1 game. Have you talked to Doc in Pripyat, looked near the Wish Granter for the PDA, & picked up Strelok's note telling about seeing the miner?
