1268 PDAs in my backpack. And I'm only at Prypjat.
It's right so?

I think TecnoBacon said he was working on something that required all NPCs to carry a standard PDA. However, at present the standard PDAs can't be sold or stashed, so your only options (apart from not picking any up when looting!) are to carry them or drop them. Carrying them isn't a problem as they have no weight, but (I assume) they are counted toward the number of items in your inventory. Dropping them can cause problems as they don't disappear, and dropping a lot at once may crash your game.

As a purely temporary hack until Tecnobacon finishes what he is doing (sorry TB and Aleks!), I have edited the [device_pda] section of items.ltx from can_trade = off to can_trade = on. I also set the price to 1 RU so it isn't a money-maker, but at least I can get them out of my inventory.

So many objects in the rucksack may cause problems, I think. Good solution!

The Stalkersoup gamedata files are packed (compressed) in the gamedata.db* files in your main Stalkersoup folder. Stalkersoup will happily run them from these files, indeed it is faster to do so. However, if it finds an unpacked file under Stalkersoup\gamedata\*, it will use that version instead.

Editing instructions:

If you don't feel up to that, PM me with your email address and I will send you my edited file.

My mistake - items.ltx is in gamedata.dbr. I can't even say I was close! Rolling Eyes

P.S. If I want unpack only a file, how do I do it?

I have unpacked the 32 (33 including the recent micropatch) gamedata.db* files into separate folders to see what is in each one. items.ltx is in the unpacked gamedata.dbr file, it unpacks into folder config\misc.

You can unpack an individual gamedata.db* archive to extract all of their contents. To extract a single file from within a compressed archive, you would need an unpacker program that works like an unzipper program - it would show you the 'zipped' contents and then enable you to unzip selected files. I don't know of such a program that works with Stalker files, (the one that I use is pretty basic) but perhaps someone here else does.

This one works well

If you only want to unpack one file, then just drop that file I.e. 'gamedata.dbr' into the same folder as the unpacking tool, and change its name to 'gamedata.db0'

There must be a gamedata.db0 file present for the Unpacker to work...

Thanks.
All is gone right now. Find items.ltx.
Thanks again!

PS
I've edited the file, (set on can_trade ) and put the file items.ltx into misc folder in gamedata\config\misc.
But when I want sell the item... It doesn't appear.

PS part2
Reloaded and now it's all right.
But Only with Miser.
Or Max at Radar.
At the bar I can see (during trading) pdas in my inventory (colored red)  but I can't trade with no one.
With other traders I've not tried.

Different traders will buy and sell different items, depending on what is in their trader config files. If they aren't set to trade an item it will be greyed-out (OK, "redded-out") in the trade window. Adrenaline also buys PDAs, as do some ordinary NPCs.
