 CTD at final NPP portal

PostSubject: CTD at final NPP portal   Thu 2 Nov 2017 - 19:09

I am getting a consistent CTD when MC tries to enter the final portal of the NPP to close out Part One. Anyone else experience this? Cannot continue to Part Two!

I have sent saves to Tecnobacon, as well, but thought I would ask here too.

What does the CTD error message say?

Sorry, I don't understand Register codes. Was there FATAL ERROR at the end of your xray_<yourname>.log file? Each time you have a crash it will create a new log file in Stalkersoup\_appdata_\logs. For example, in my last game I got this CTD on entering Old Village:

The last line tells me the type and location of the error. (Whether I can do anything about it is another matter.)

Well, looking in the script files, tb3d_chaes_finish is an info portion which creates new teleports in NPP2 after you exit. It is associated with two other info portions, tb3d_chaes_done and bar_dolg_video_start. These are all under the Info tab on the ESC-S menu. You could try using them (select the one that you want and click OK) and see if that lets you continue. Otherwise I think you will have to wait for TecnoBacon or Aleks to help you out.

Your StalkerSoup game does not work properly.!

The "tb3d_chaes_finish" is missing in your configuration files - I suggest you game reinstall.
But be careful with the STALKERSOUP folder position!

This is the STALKERSOUP game path which you have now:
"F:\Games\Stalker Items\STALKERSOUP\STALKERSOUP\SS GAME"
rather use this path:
"F:\Games\Stalker Items\STALKERSOUP"
or even
"F:\Games\STALKERSOUP"
...

Yeah, my folder setup is not very efficient, due to several installs. I cleaned things up.

I saved all my v14 Saves, uninstalled STALKERSOUP, installed v12 and went through startup routine, installed v15 and went through startup routine, then pasted v14 saves into v15 Saves folder.

It all worked and I am playing again.
