You should get a bright white flash when you drop it correctly. The transmuted artefact should then appear after a few seconds. If you didn't get the white flash, keep picking up the HoP and dropping it in different places around the white area until you do.

When taking the other offer you get a bank card worth 5m RUB I think. Or something like that. Since you cant sell it, does taking the card affect the storyline in any way?

Hi pchester, when one goes in to the hospital up the stairs to the top were you left, I notices there
is a teleport type bubble to the right, I entered it just to see what happened and the HoP changed
and the little winged thingy also changed to a silver color, is there any significance to that to the
rest of the hospital story, I cannot get the HoP to flash up in the bright disc either , take the money
or do some cooking, decisions decisions, much perplexed .....

The Hospital has several teleports in odd corners and at the tops of stairs. Mostly they just take you back toward the entrance. I think what happened to you is that teleporting back to the entrance triggered something that should have happened earlier. Did you use the teleport menu to reach the hospital? If so you would have missed the trigger.

When you approach the doorway from the valley into the Hospital, you should get a message that some items have changed. The "Modified Heart of the Poltergeist" changes to the "Modified Heart of the Poltergeist II", and the brownish "Water Flower" confusingly changes to the white "Purple Flower". When you speak to the Black Doctor he talks about items needing to change (I can't remember the exact wording) and MO tells him it has already happened.

You can't cook up the Good Luck stone. (EDIT: Well, you can, that is what you are doing with the HoP II.) You can spawn it in (Artefact tab - af_kamen_udachy) but I don't think it will work. I'm afraid this is one situation where you just have to keep trying.

When you drop an item, it falls behind you and slightly to the right. I find that the best place to stand is on the edge of the white circle looking outwards.

Thanks I will go that in the hospital there is so much being triggered and in different places,
which option takes one on to the collector story, one way gives both teleports and the other
the one by the digger only, there's so many sms's and not good English at that, I suppose
they are being worked on what with a million to one things that need doing, I do not envy
any one the task with those sms's, but any way thanks to who ever is running with it, they
deserve a big THANK YOU....

Agreed. Much of the dialogue was translated from the original Russian using Google Translate or something similar, and it can be pretty garbled. Sword2012 and his Dialogue Improvement team are working wonders, but there are a large number of dialogue files to work through and it will take them a while to reach the later parts of the game. In the meantime, if you find any dialogue that is obviously wrong or misleading, please post it in the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] here and they will take a look.

Thanks, pchester. It helps us considerably if anyone submitting an error can post a link to a screenshot of the text, or write down part of the dodgy bit of text exactly, even if it's a few key words in the right order so it can be found in a search. Then write what you think it should be from your experience...

We'll often try to act on a request, but simply can't find it because they've only written an approximation of the text. Here's an example from a well-meaning contributor

'When in the warehouses, Wolf talks as though he is still in Cordon. Perhaps changing his dialogue slightly could clear this up. Instead of saying the documents are near the railroad, why don't we change it to, " I need some documents, You can find them near to the Cordon Railroad."

Unfortunately, we've not been able to find Wolf's original text from the above description, so it'll stay on a To Do list until we find it by accident, or restart the game once more. However, we're currently trying to make our way through the entire game, literally clearing a path along the way towards a comprehensible first draft

We've a long ToDo list full of contributions like this, but without a few key words in the correct order, there's little we can do but guess a few times while searching through the game's entire 154 text files before relegating it down the list... No

Which is why I'll always award a shiny new 'thingy' to anyone submitting an error with enough information to successfully fix it... cheers

Many thanks to Sword2012 and pchester any sms's or similar text ,' er hold a mo what did they say',
as the game progresses the sms's are increasing and so the translating is becoming difficult, as the
original game was constructed the concept of txt/sms was just getting of the ground, and SoC and
the other two CoP and CS the makers I believe did not find a need to make the speech to complex
and in Russian, and the rigs were fairly simple with early MS systems , what you got for your money
and compared to today ,well, to me it seems that TB and the SS team are having the immense task
of tearing apart the 3 games and redesigning them , no mean feat and with fantastic talent, so
translating simple Russian dialogue to English and adding dialog to make one line of speech/txt
interesting to the point of being enjoyable to play, a never ending task it would seem.
thanks to all involved.

You're right in that the SMS messages are a stinker. They're impossible to repair in the text files without knowing the context in which they suddenly appear in-game. Only then can you try to figure out what the sender actually meant

Which is why we have to keep on working our way through the game... Mad

When to many sms's turn up and stack up and fade out, I strike the pause button and that gives one
a mo to try make sense of them against what is/has happened/ing, works some time instead of going in
to the diary, with the pause I can hold them on the screen and apply them to the goings on, if you have
a quick save close by restart the scene and soon as 'pause' , and..er. if you have already played a small
way past and restart it and the pause do'es start to sense of the dialogue, as I say it works some time,
if all this makes sense any way, er 'pause'

Yes, it makes perfect sense to read the SMS messages in-game this way

I usually take a screenshot of anything I'm not happy with, with my cursor pointing to the offending text, for reference later on...
